The Pitch: More black magic from the growing metal hub of Dublin, Ireland.  Blackened death metal bringing "tales of the macabre."

What I Like: They sure know how to set the tone.  That first minute and a half between the drums and guitar was the perfect warmup for what is to come.  Then you've got these crippled, malignant hooks that sound like they are being played in some nauseating bog.  Definitely hearing parallels to some of my favorite up-and-comers like Malthusian and Emptiness.  Every song on this EP is a winner.  I told you, less is more.

What I Don't Like: Virtually nothing.  This is a fantastic release that only loses points for not taking that extra step into something truly unique.

The Verdict: The Cursed Travails of the Demeter is one of my favorite EP's of the year and rivals some recent breakout hits for most impressive performance in this style.

Flight's Fav's: "The Cursed Travails of the Demeter," "Lascivious Cruelty"
