The Pitch: Polish grind/crust mutants Nuclear Holocaust are at it again with a no-holds-barred new album via SelfMadeGod. FFO: Gouged, Vermin Womb, Grind Of The Dead

What I Like: The title pretty much says it all; this is another explosive, unapologetic blast of rotten grindcore and thrash.  These D-beats are the Konami code of adrenaline-inducing instanity. Purposefully underproduced and with plenty of punk rock sentiment, Nuclear Holocaust like to really get down in the mud. If you prefer the approach of the glossy new Pig Destroyer, this is probably not the band for you. I happen to appreciate both styles, but those opposed to getting a little dirty and drawing some blood best find the nearest exit. Grinding Bombing Thrashing is the type of album that requires a thorough shower soon after, but the shame never quite washes off.

Critiques: All said and done, I prefer the last two albums. Overkill Commando in particular really took this simple sound to its natural peak. It's difficult to put my finger on exactly what the difference is; I'm just not feeling the same consistent urge to break things.

The Verdict: Grinding Bombing Thrashing is the album you throw on when you're feeling ugly. Embrace your mutant side, grab the nearest object, and put it through the second nearest object. Simple.
