The Pitch: Facedown Records releases the debut EP from pummeling hardcore/metalcore band Nothing Left (ft. members of For Today). FFO: Darkest Hour, Trap Them, Norma Jean
What I Like: Destroy and Rebuild occupies the space somewhere between Crown Feral and Godless Prophets & The Migrant Flora; with the abrasive fury of the former, but also some metalcore tricks of the latter. "Hands of Death" even reminds me of the ferocious D-beat infused fury of "Those Who Survived." For those of you who dig this kind of music, there's not a ton to say beyond the usual. Words fail to truly capture the sweat and ire. It's fist-to-face music. It's the soundtrack to hundreds of swarming, circling, stinking bodies throwing themselves against eachother; a colony of mosh-pitting, crowd-killing ants. You know... in a good way.
Critiques: Familiar. You've got the energy, but you could use an infusion of originality.
The Verdict: Commanding vocals, driving beats, noisy riffs. All-around good time. Doesn't overstay its welcome. Buy it HERE digital only $5.99, or HERE for physical.
