The Pitch: Sentient Ruin and Xenoglossy present the physical release of Vessel Of Iniquity's self-titled EP. "Fifteen minutes of inconceivable sonic trauma administered through the unholy abuse of the most blighted blackened death metal and of the most anti-human and liminal strains of noise, drone and power electronics. A sensorially annihilating and humiliating sonic holocaust that has brought together the diverse but equally decimating aesthetics of extreme acts like Gnaw Their Tongues, Impetuous Ritual, and Teitanblood to conceive the most absurd and completely unthinkable realms of musical devastation."

What I Like: Well s#!t...that's a really tough description to follow. I honestly can't think of a more appropriate way to describe the "music" of Vessel Of Iniquity. It's certainly among the most abrasive, sandblasting releases I have heard in some time; rivaling even recent output from Dendritic Arbor, Seputus, and SPEKTR. The compositions are highly technical, but so densely packed with noise as to shift focus away from individual instrumentation. Even the vocals, much like Gnaw Their Tongues, are treated as another source of sonic torment as opposed to a thematic guiding force. Listening to these 3 songs is like plugging directly into some futuristic cult initiation straight out of Black Mirror.

Critiques: I honestly can't think of anything. It's not a 10, as it's not all that out of the realm of acts I've heard before, but it's really damn sharp.

The Verdict: Vessel Of Iniquity is a brief but highly rewarding psychological experience sure to leave you haunted with dread. I haven't felt like this since the first time I finished The Shining. The tape is available in 200 copies (100 to each label) in gold and silver artwork. Listen below, and order from the US HERE and Europe HERE. Digital is available for the price of your choosing from the band's Bandcamp.
