The Pitch: Virgina band delivers a strange fusion of black metal and psychodelic, progressive sludge on Biophobia.

What I Like: What a seemingly mismatched-yet-wonderful combination of sounds.  I doubt you have heard this yet in 2016.  The raspy, wretched black metal vocals are already delightful on their own, but when joined with the stoner aesthetic and rock riffs...that's when the real magic happens.  No hesitation in throwing in a very Led Zeppelin-sounding instrumental interlude either to show off the guitar playing skills.

What I Don't Like: Compositions could use a little work.  Some of the transitions feel a little clunky, and a few of the riffs were a little irritating.

The Verdict: Drop acid in a putrid swamp and this might be the resulting trip.  Somehow the whole fear of plants theme from the title and cover art come across very well in the organic sound of the music.  Not perfect, but good stuff.
