The Pitch: Following up the excellent The Earth is the Sky, Sweden's post-metal/sludge act The Moth Gatherer are back with a new EP through Agonia Records.  Featuring a guest spot from Dennis Lyxzen (Refused) and with lyrics revolving around introspection and rising up in the face of depression.  FFO Wovoka, Alaskan, They Grieve

What I Like: The Moth Gatherer have done an excellent job packing just two songs to the brim with content.  The band's signature electronics continue to simmer beneath the dreamy post-metal guitars, with somewhat of a Tron soundtrack meets Cult of Luna vibe.  "This Providence of Bones" opens with dare I say a more gothic approach to the vocals before shifting into some light Fugazi parallels and eventually erupting into some really powerful howls by the end.  "Still Life Slumbers Here" is equally powerful with its tension building intro and subsequent fake-out before once more burning sh#t down.  Fred Burman (Satan Takes A Holiday) has some intense screams on this one as well.

What I Don't Like: What a tease.  I need more, you guys.

The Verdict: A brief but no less wonderful display of original post metal prowess.  I look forward to another full length from these guys in the future.  Stream it early HERE.

Flight's Fav's: This Providence of Bones
