The Pitch: Black and death metal from I I and Lihhamon. "Two of the most outrageous entities of Leipzig’s underground join forces to celebrate death on their upcoming split release entitled Miasmal Coronation" FFO: Vermin Womb, Malthusian, Zom
What I Like: Nothing to see here. Just time and space being torn asunder by some truly wicked music. Both I I and Lihhamon deliver pummeling, grinding black and death in the vein of groups like Vermin Womb. Compositions are densely packed wtih blastbeats, vicious tremolo strumming, and unearthly howls. Lihhamon's production is on the grittier side, but I I don't slouch in delivering an equally disarming experience. In the end, the bands compliment eachother well and together create an incredibly heavy 30 minutes of music.
Critiques: Miasmal Coronation doesn't do anything particularly exciting, and Lihhamon, having just dropped a full length, leave this split with what feels like leftover. Even so, I do enjoy the creepy chanting towards the end of "Chasm."
The Verdict: An abrasive, if unspectacular, black and death metal split that will knock your block off if nothing else.
Flight's Fav's: Chasma (Deathstrike Coronation), Vidargängr, Miasmal Execration
