The Pitch: "Fully damaged crust illness from the dank recess of Vancouver’s rat infested alley’s." Check out the new album from Erosion via Hydra Head Records (members of Baptists and Sumac). FFO: Vermin Womb, Crypt Rot, Expulsion

What I Like: Filthy, putrid, crust: If that's what your'e in the mood for, you won't be disappointed by Maximum Suffering. With fitting track names like "Everything is Fucked" and "We Have Failed Us," it should be pretty clear what's in store from the outset. Erosion take the same disdainfully irreverent approach as Vermin Womb with ugly, simple chord progessions, gutter punk drumming, and death metal snarls. Toss in a little Converge for good measure. There's not much more to say, or that needs to be said beyond that. Prepare to be waterboarded by music.

Critiques: Simpsons did it.

The Verdict: Maximum Suffering is exactly what you want from a crust album; nothing more, nothing less. Erosion are just the right amount of off-putting. Catchy yet sickening, their music is like the rollercoaster you keep getting back on even though it makes you puke every time.
