The Pitch: Magic Bullet Records presents the pummeling sophomore album from Tampa, Florida’s "corrosive" hardcore quartet, Meatwound.  FFO Left Behind, The Apex, MoRkObOt

What I Like:  Blend the above three bands into a fine puree and I could pretty much stop the review at that.  Meatwound posess the brutal, unfettered vocal delivery of the first two groups, but the groovy, distorted bass-driven groove of the latter.  Each track is one rattling, heavy-gauged string woven straight through you brain.  And the fun doesn't stop there.  Tracks like "Pigs" also give off an early Helmet vibe, falling somewhere between the ubridled madness of Strap It On and the tightly-honed hooks of Meantime.

What I Don't Like: Largo keeps its hardest punches a little top-heavy and could benefit from a little track-trimming here and there.  Make no mistake, this is an enjoyable 30 minutes start to finish; but there's certainly room to tighten up.

The Verdict: A groovy, aggressive throat-punch that serves as an overall satisfying experience, but also left me wanting a little bit more.  Definitely worth your time and a band to follow.  Stream it early HERE, check it out tomorrow.
