The Pitch: Montreal "instrumental tech death" for fans of Animals As Leaders, Scale The Summit, Archspire.
What I Like: This is just plain madness. I was skeptical of the whole "instrumental tech death thing." My thinking was "wouldn't that just be progressive metal?" Nope, this is about as heavy as one can hope to get without vocals. I hear shades of everything from Sikth and Behold The Arctopus to Alkaloid. Also, random 70's organ solo. "Deconstruct Metabolism" sounds like a giant robot mech being digested by a leviathan's gurgling stomach. This feels to be the perfect length for something so mentally taxing.
What I Don't Like: That I can't play anywhere near as good as this.
