The Pitch: Australian deathcore mainstays Aversions Crown continue their reign of terror with Hell Will Come For All Of Us via Nuclear Blast Records. FFO: Thy Art Is Murder, Lorna Shore, Whitechapel

What I Like: I've never been a close follower of Aversions Crown over the years, but after catching the music videos for "The Soil" and "Born In Disaster," it seemed high time to see what I've been missing. These two songs, along with the aptly named "Scourge Of Violence," are easily my favorites on the album with their breakneck pace and catchy riffs. The core rules of deathcore have always been "hit em hard and hit em fast," and if nothing else these tracks most certainly deliver on that. The picking alternations on the hooks really get under my skin, and "Hymn Of Annihilation" even tests the waters with a more techy, proggy guitar sound that I'd expect to hear from the likes of Fallujah or Beyond Creation. I only wish that they had carried this further into the composition rather than ultimately slowing things down. Regardless, these shredding axes alongside the intensely vicous growls of Tyler Miller make for some truly nuclear mosh-frenzy moments.

Critiques: Those points considered, there's nothing particularly remarkable about Hell Will Come For Us that I haven't already heard a thousand times before. Sometimes a band can overcome this issue with sheer brute force, but save for the tracks named above, even attempts at symphonic epicness with the likes of "Sorrow Never Sleeps" come off as a little bland.

The Verdict: Ultimately, Hell Will Come For Us All is a fine deathcore album with a few top notch singles and perfectly serviceable material in between. It makes for an enjoyable listen, but not one I see myself talking about 2 or 3 years down the road. Get it this Friday.
