The Pitch: Blood Harvest presents the sophomore recording from Indiana's old school, blackened death metal crew Desekryptor.   FFO: Putrisect, Shed the Skin, Grave Plague

What I Like: A fantastic display of filth and depravity.  I love the alternation between ripping, blackened blasts and old school, sometimes doom-laden headbanging.  While this release is brief, there are plenty of fine moments like the pounding drum opening of "Chasm of Rot" or the disorienting pace changes of "Blood Tipped Scythe."  The vocals are absolutely virulent, be it a hearty growl from the chest, or a demonic screech tearing directly through the back of the throat.  I listen to these repellent, ugly tremolos and haphazard solos and begin to smell sewage.

What I Don't Like: Nothing particularly new or exciting going on here.  The question is whether you care.

The Verdict: More abysmal, putrid rot to pour down your hungry gullet.  Comfort filth, as it were.

Flight's Fav's: Chasm of Rot, Blood Tipped Scythe, Apocalyptic Funeral Trance
