The Pitch: UK's Caïna and and Dallas' Cara Neir come together for a short split 7" though Broken Limbs.  This is reportedly Caïna's final recording.

What I Like: Short review for a short release.  While we only get 2 songs, this is a fine example of quality over quantity.  Caïna's side is heavily influences by both black and post-metal, creating an expansive atmosphere while retaining plenty of aggression and some earworm guitar melodies.  Cara Neir take a crustier approach with a track that is more straightforward, and creates a fine counterbalance.  Together these songs illustrate the importance of contrast and just how well seemingly different things can fit together.

Critiques: Another band calling it quits in their prime.  I wasn't a huge follower, but this track makes me want to revisit other material.  It also would hae been nice to have at least another two tracks.

The Verdict: A brief but well-balanced and near-perfect split from two different but highly talented bands.  Stream it HERE.  Buy it HERE.

Flight's Fav's: They're both good.
