The Pitch: "Unorthodox version of death metal and technical grindcore" from Bufihimat out of Voronezh, Russia.  FFO Psyopus, Wormed, Gigan

What I Like: I am excited to talk about this release partly due to how it came to my attention.  Rather than receiving a formal promotional email, I had a few close sources and friends recommend it to me by word of mouth.  Anyone can send an email; it takes something special to get the masses talking about a relatively underground release.  In any case, there is good reason why these people are talking.  Bufihimat deliver only the mathiest, most dissonance forms of deathgrind known to man.  The vocals are insanely brutal, but throw in some layered barks as well.  The guitars are some abomination of Cattle Decapitation and Psyopus.  A fan by the name of gordeth on the album page perhaps summed it up best in saying, "This is what I imagine a collaboration between members of Gorguts and Wormed would sound like."  And you gotta love those strings on "He Saw Himself."

What I Don't Like: As much as I want to say that this album is a slam dunk, there is definitely room for growth.  There are times where certain riffs feel a little repetetive or even grating, and others it feels like technicality takes too much precedence over engagement.

The Verdict: $3 ya'll.  If you can't afford $3 for music of this caliber, there's no helping you or the industry.  Buy this monster right now.

Flight's Fav's: Splited, Last Journey Through Pain, He Saw Himself
