The Pitch:  Joint reissuing of Hungarian death metal band's debut album on CD via Caverna Abismal Records and Neverheard Distro.

What I Like:  This album kicks off heavy as hell and never lets up until it's over.  The vocals are cavernously brutal, the blackened riffs batter the listener.  There are some decent solos and my favorite hooks happen when the band is raging tremolos at full speed.

What I Don't Like: Some of these tracks come of as a bit crude and generic, for instance the title track.

The Verdict: While a bit inconsistent, Horns In The Dark is a violent headbanger when it gets things right.  It should please fans of blackened, brutal, and old school death metal alike.

Flight's Fav's:  "The Mountains of Irkalla (From Life to Death)," "Arcanum-Secretum," "Church of the Fire"
