The Pitch: Swedish crust/metallic hardcore giants Martyrdöd bring forth a "Harmageddon" of D-beat destruction.

What I Like: Having D-beat in your music almost triples your chances of me reviewing your album.  I'm just a sucker for it.  Luckily, Martyrdöd understand that an album in this fairly straight-forward and bloated genre can't stand on drumming alone.  As such, there are a lot of great guitar hooks and a powerfully gritty vocal performance to keep things from feeling generic.  And the Motörhead-like solos?  Awesome.

What I Don't Like:  For no fault of the band's, it is still hard to come up with many new things to say about metallic punk and hardcore.  It's cut from the same cloth as many, but fortunately they chose the fine linen over the tattered rags.  I do feel that some of tracks drag a bit, especially the otherwise excellent "Över på ett stick."

The Verdict: If you love you some crusty drums and wailing guitars with plenty of energy from both the metal and punk camps, get the hell in here.  Album drops 12/2/16.
