The Pitch: All female, Siberian black metal trio brave the cold to bring you an amalgamation of Russian folk tunes with punk, surfer rock, and Darkthrone in the form of Царица (Queen).

What I Like: Well if you can say nothing else about this album, it would be that it is different and creative.  However, I think there is plenty more to say.  The songs are interesting, and while it took me a few listens to readapt to the harshness of kvlt black metal, I was able to really appreciate how well they have blended the aforementioned influence of Fenriz and Nocturno with so many other styles.  Kind of a Siberian version of Peste Noire.  LOVE the accordian and other regional instruments.

What I Don't Like: I'm a little burned out on the old kvlt vocal style, but I will say that something about the production choices here are making them grow on me.  I also think some tracks are much better than others.

The Verdict: Your first impulse might be to give up early on this one.  Please don't.  While it is a bit harsh on the ears, I assure you that there is more than enough to take in and enjoy from this album if you give it a fair chance.  Also, it's name your own price, so don't be a prude.  If I have this right, I will just say, "'Молодец!"
