DC-based progressive stoner sludge trio Blunt Horse recently released their debut EP Clawing Through Earth and Flesh. "Mixing in elements of doom and stoner rock, our sound is a unique take on sludge that frequently shifts between prog tendencies, crushing heaviness, and the downright weird. We take influence from bands like Mastodon, Red Fang, Electric Wizard, Tool, Kylesa, and many more." I think that pretty much sums it up. Psychedelic and a bit experimental, Blunt Horse seem to be carving out an excellent niche for themselves with their unique take on the genre.
