Ulfven is a new, unsigned band from the north of Sweden. They describe their sound as melodic doom/death with a touch of black metal. This January they debuted their first album, Folklore; a concept album about mythological creatures from Scandinavia. Songs are dark and dense as the forests of the North. Slow, heavy riffs, acoustic interludes, and 2 different lead harsh vocalists make for a moody experience indeed. Think Opeth with much more emphasis on doom. Listen below.
