Alkonost is an epic folk-metal band based out of Russia. The band took root all the way back in 1996, over time building a fanbase in their own country as well as Eastern and Northern Europe. Now looking to the West, the band has released their latest album, Октаграмма ("Octagram"). With haunting, clean vocals from Ksenia Pobuzhanskaya and Andrey Panteleev, and a lush, atmospheric backdrop of instrumentation from a number of talented musicians, this album should please fans of Myrkur, Ensiferum, Heilung, and beyond.
