I've been following Ego Depths since their last Name Your Price album (in our collection). You know I'm not all that into funeral doom, but I feel like ED mixes the sound up with a bit of the vaccuous brutality of groups like NOUS and Primitive Man.
Escarre, on the other hand, is a black metal band. I really enjoy the music overall of this release, but the vocals are definitely an acquired taste. Hey, BM is all about finding new ways to be off-putting. Score one for Escarre in that department.
