Briargh streams album

April 8, 2016

Briargh are an underground revelation. It's hard to believe that such a poignant band remain overlooked by one and all. The band at once engage influences from all sub-styles and significant facets of black metal, from the folk/pagan-tinged riffs to the deeper, moving kind propagated by Burzum, and lastly forming a dense, lush sound comparable to the mighty Drudkh. This is a stunning album if one were to appreciate the mournful riffing and bitter-sweet melodies ensconced in a blightful Scandinavian-sounding setting. Not only does the album unravel elegantly, exposing your heart to surreptitious torment, it keeps you mesmerized with its mid-paced, somewhat warm, nostalgic charm. 'Erobos' remains a genuine, humble, and touching album, one that is devoid of any affectations, and for this reason, remains one of the best albums in this style to come out in this era. -Transcending Obscurity
