Mortals is the first album from one-man Hungarian black metal project Hænesy. Sometimes super chill, others a violent eruption; this is music that builds from a few sparing guitar notes to cascading walls of distortion. It kind of reminds me of Downfall of Nur minus the flutes and other added instrumentation. Whatever it is, it's quite beautfiul despite the grim, hellish black metal snarls that echo from the abyss.
