The Russian Federation sends a lot of great music our way, but I was not expecting this.  How often do you get a Dillinger Escape Plan equivalent from the region?  This is mathcore at its finest.  For You.Earth has put out a few splits and this 2012 LP, The Deathsongs.  I only pray they have more in the works, because they are phenominal musicians and songwrighters.

This vocalist could very well be Greg Puciato in disguise.  They have the same quality to their screams, and the same affinity for writing cadences that create maximum impact.  The first two songs alone will knock your damn socks off.  It's not only where the vocals are that is so important...it's where they're not.  Anyone can scream nonstop.  Knowing when to back off is a master skill: one that makes each syllable that much more delicious.

And the musicianship?  Forget about it.  "Цари из грязи" has a splendid horn section to round out an already frenetic performance.  The band doesn't seem to be being technical just for the sake of doing it either.  Both "Время против нас" and "Покой" show the band also playing wtih moody dirges to develop a more textured overall product.  When they feel like tearing through guitar strings like their a penny a piece will benefit the song, then that's what they do.  But if something else is warranted, they can go other directions as well.  The result is a second half that (also not unlike DEP) builds to epic proportons.

Slam dunk on this one.  This is precisely why I like to mine through bandcamp, other sites, and Facebook groups; never discounting a release just because it's not new.  Hey, if I've never heard it, it's new to me.  My guess is that many of you had never even heard of For You.Earth before.  And now you have.  Quality stuff deserves an audience, and this is top notch music froom very talented musicians.  I am glad to say that within minutes of me slapping down the measly $2 for this album, I recieved an email that someone else did the same after seeing it in our collection.  Cheers.
