The Pitch: Never boring, never the same.  Germany's experimental band Valborg returns with an eclectic new album.  FFO Crown, Cancelled, Tryptikon, Syk

What I Like: Valborg's sound simply cannot be pigeonholed.  Each track represents a fresh approach; shifting between, and seamlessly melding, genres in ways that few bands can.  There are certainly doom and industrial metal overtones, but to call the band either would be simplistic and ultimately inaccurate. Endstrand enlists shades of rock, post-metal, sludge, punk, and undeniably hypnotic Meshuggah-esque grooves into a glorious cauldron of originality.  I could go on to describe a few tracks, but I'd really prefer you just listen for yourself.  Just be ready for equally experimental vocals that maintain plenty of extremity, but again transcend a specific descriptor.

Critiques: There are a few missteps in vocal delivery and tracks that could benefit from a little less repetition.

The Verdict: Always happy to hear a project that is doing something a little different.  Convention gets really boring.  Definitely worth your time.

Flight's Fav's: Orbitalwaffe, Stossfront, Plasmabrand
