The Pitch: Swedish crust/bhardcore band Fredag Den 13:e deliver a ferocious new album via EveryDayHate. FFO: Nuisible, Nukk, Martydod

What I Like: I don't have a ton to say about Dystopisk Utsik other than this: it's good. For those who love their hardcore ugly, raw, and confrontational, Fredag Den 13:e have your number. The band name and album cover had me thinking this would be a black metal album, and that's not far off. At base this album is heavy on D-beat and punk vocal delivery, but there is plenty of BM in the riffs and to go around, especially the tremolo on the opening track.

Critiques: There's very little particularly exciting about this. It's a perfectly solid genre work: nothing more, nothing less. I enjoyed listening quite a bit, but a I crave a little more substance in terms of replayability.

The Verdict: Dystopisk Utsik is a highly enjoyable crust album that, despite its lack of innovation, is worthy of your time. I'm a sucker for most Scandinavian hardcore, and this trend continues with Fredag Den 13:e.
