Yeah, so this had not been on my radar at all, but ZAO just dropped a new EP today to follow up their comeback LP, The Well-Intentioned Virus. One of my complaints of that otherwise solid outing was that certain riffs and structures felt disjointed (in a bad way). Well, I'm just listening to Pyrrhic Victory for the first time right now, and so far it sounds much tighter. I'm even digging the vocal surprises and stoner rock influences on "Clawing, Clawing, Never Cutting Through." And "Feed It Pain" is just a f#%king ripper. If you're always down like me for metalcore/mathcore revival acts, you should definitely check this out.
