The Pitch: Texas-based progressive metal that channels both Textures and Coheed & Cambria.

What I Like:  Takes soaring C&C vocals and djentify it with the sounds of Textures and you'd get Memories in Broken Glass.  It's hard to find high pitched clean vocals that don't come off as whiny and lame, but these guys pull it off.  Counterbalancing them with the deeper growls works out very nicely.  Then there are the guitars, which pull off some killer, headbob-inducing hooks, but also some more ethereal post-rock/post-metal.  Great atmosphere to match great songs.

What I Don't Like: A few of the tracks lost their steam as the album presses on.  I could go for a little more consistent energy, but then I might end up complaining about a lack of dynamics.  I don't know what I want.

The Verdict: Fans of the above along with bands like Periphery are gonna eat this up.  They deserve it, but they could use a little more time in the oven to truly go toe-to-toe.  Out tomorrow.
