The Pitch: More than two decades since AntropomorphiA's debut EP, Dutch death metal band return with a crushing LP via Metal Blade Records.  FFO Cannibal Corpse

What I Like: That first track hits like a damn freight train.  Between the overpowering guitars and that spectacularly combative bass rumble, my hair was quite visibly blown black.  And when those brutal vocals kick in, you'll be lucky to have any scalp left.  This is a fun and very intense album with a mixture of depraved, mid-paced debauchery as well as more than a few full on ragers.  I may or may not also have trouble taking my eyes away from the cover art.

What I Don't Like: The effect starts to wear off towards the second half.  Not much variety on display.

The Verdict: Sometimes I want a real 10/10, creative tour de force...but others I just want to be hit repeatedly in the face with a sledgehammer.  Sermon of Wrath is perfect for the latter.

Flight's Fav's: Sermon ov Wrath, Crown ov the Dead, Suspiria de Profundis
