The Pitch: Sadly, Denmark's mathcore elite, Église, have called it quits.  Fortunately, they have left us with plenty of unreleased material for a final farewell.  FFO Converge, Botch, Grieved

What I Like: I don't think there is much more that needs to be said that I didn't already say in my review of their self-titled effort.  But here's the gist of it and then I'll shut up and let the music speak for itself: I think that these guys are/were one of the most promising young groups in the style.  I've covered a lot of Botch worshippers out there, and intend on covering many more, but few of them command that same spirit so perfectly.  Église may not have some of the bells and whistles of some of the more fresh acts to hit the scene in the last few years, but they nail the passion, intensity, and morose aesthetic to perfection.  What we get here is the band's first song ever recorded, an album that was completed and then shelved, and a new EP.  All excellent and available at the price of your choosing. I really love the melodic overtones on the final track, "Tempest."  "A suitable ending, I think."

What I Don't Like: Why?  WHY!?  Don't go!

The Verdict: A bittersweet collection of top quality mathcore that'll only set you back what feels fair.  Sad to see you go, but I'll be enjoying this material for many years to come.

Flight's Fav's: Consumed, Locust, Famine, Mesa, Tempest
