Short EP for you today from München's Abandoned Dreams. Joy Division, The Cure, New World Order: These are the bands that come to mind as that rumbly bass hook takes hold on the title track of Home. It's a peaceful melancholy that builds with the simple instrumentation. Even as the distortion kicks in, the cherubic vocals ground the atmosphere in a sort of hazy trance.

Between the almost playful palm-muted plucking of "Home" to the meandering four-stringed performance of "Keep the Lights Burning," this is some of the most indie flavored metal I have heard to date. But hey, Flight loves himself some Moon Over Antarctica, so why the fuck not. The closest doom comparison that comes to mind is maybe Windhand or such similar acts. Regardless, the melodies are compelling and performances haunting. And as if to check our pulse, the title track does close with a few shrieks for good measure.

You can check out the stream below and buy it for 1.49 Euro. Not a bad deal for a good 25 minutes of music.
