The Pitch: New York sludge/hardcore/southern rock quartet Haan channel Clutch and Mike Patton for 4 song EP.
What I Like: Haan takes everything I love the most about the above projects and streamlines it to perfection. Imagine a fusion of "Burning Beard" with Faith No More's "Jizzlobber." I love the country-fried riffs, but I like the disarming preacher vocals even more.
What I Don't Like: More please. Also, "Pasture/Abuela" starts to drag in the second half.
The Verdict: Sing Praises is a nearly perfect EP marred only by a closing track that takes just a little too long. The unique vocal style along with the killer guitar hooks make this a delightful little endeavor. Full length LP please?
