The Pitch: Similar to Mendel of Aborted, Ray Suhy of Cannabis Corpse and Six Feet Under is releasing solo material under his own name Cessation Engine Records.  This latest EP brings some excellent progressive shredding to the fold.  FFO: Mendel, Animals As Leaders, Invoking The Abstract.

What I Like: Foregoing the usual brutality of his other projects, Ray uses this concentrated EP to exercise some true melodic power and emotional potency through his ax.  All 4 of these tracks are works of progressive perfection, delivering flawless performances that prove Ray's worth as a musician even outside of the death metal genre.  And if you're one of those people who just isn't into instrumental music, maybe you haven't found the right album yet.  Fulmination delivers more than enough information and meaning through the riveting performances via wailing solos and energetic drumming alike.

Critiques: Nada.  I just want to hear more.  I would also love to hear a duel collaboration between Ray and Mendel.

The Verdict: A highly concentrated 15 minutes of progressive, guitar-driven music that is sure to get you moving.  Order it HERE in various formats, only $5 for digital.  Stream it early HERE
